The boys had their one month check-up today and looked great! They both got Hep B shots and Henry got a heel stick to test for anemia since he's so pale. The preliminary results were fine and it doesn't look appear that he's anemic - it's just compared to Matt he looks so pale, lol. Also, Henry has a slight heart murmur, but the doctor said that it is incredibly common in newborns since the heart and lungs are still figuring things out. She said it was absolutely nothing to worry about, so we're not worrying about it. :-) Here are the rest of their impressive stats!
Henry (aka, the spit-up king)
- weight: 8 lbs, 2 oz (10th percentile) (up from 6 lbs, 1 oz at birth)
- length: 19 1/2 inches (3rd percentile) (up from 18 inches at birth)
- head: 15 inches in diameter (50th percentile)
Matt (aka, Fatty Matty)
- weight: 9 lbs (25th percentile) (up from 6 lbs, 12 oz at birth)
- length: 21 inches (25th percentile) (up from 20 1/2 inches at birth)
- head: 15 1/2 inches in diameter (75th percentile!)
As for everything else, we are doing great. On Wednesday night, Henry spit up all over the place (ie, all over John's pants and on the couch.) He went through 2 outfit changes, had a nasty diaper and peed on John while he spit up again. So, we gave them baths and put them to bed and we were rewarded with them going 5 hours between feedings! We fed them at 11-11:30pm and they didn't wake up until about 4:15am. Fabulous! Then last night, they did it again(!), giving us a 4-5 hour stretch instead of a 3-4 hour stretch between feedings. I know it won't stay like this, but we're certainly going to enjoy it while it lasts. :-)
In other news, I am finally feeling like a human again. Noteworthy items:
- My wedding ring fits again! (first time in about 4 months)
- Can get in bed without using a step stool (first time in about 5 months)
- Can sleep on my stomach again!
- Can bend over to dry off my legs/scrub my feet/paint my toenails
- Still losing weight (albeit, much more slowly now)
So, that's us this week. We are looking forward to next week and my cousin Taylor's wedding in Nags Head on July 4th. Still figuring out the logistics of getting there and where to stay, but excited for an adventure! Happy Friday!

Happy Happy Friday. Glad to hear the boys are doing well and wow Matt!! 9 POUNDS!?!?! Fatty is right! :) He also gives quite the stinky eye. Love it. :) I'm watchin' you!
If we don't see you before your vacay, have a great time. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for all these blog updates. It makes me feel so connected. I just can't believe Henry and Matthew are already 1 month old! Your blog also brings back so many memories. I just read my blog entry from when Leo was 5 weeks old. Even at that young of an age, we were able to determine his temperament and he really looks quite similar to how he does now.
Have a great weekend and kiss your boys for me! (well, maybe not John LOL)
