We had a GREAT time with John's family yesterday in Elizabeth City. The food was awesome (can you say cheesy hashbrown casserole??) and we absolutely stuffed ourselves. At the height, we had 18 people in John's sister's house. Heard tale of favorite stories (one involving the removal of the back seat of an old Chrysler and using lawn chairs until the back seat could be repaired) and had a large time, as they say in the South. The highlight, though, was that on the way back home we saw a HUGE display of Christmas lights on a side road. The people had donation boxes (good call) and people were just pulling off the road to drive through their display. It was absolutely amazing and I've never seen anything like it before in my life. Merry Christmas!
