Bald Head, Part 3

We were so happy to be a part of this wedding.  Of this family, really.  There were 68 people that made the trek to the Shoals Club on Bald Head for this wedding.  We were the only non-family who stayed for the week.  We actually met the brides parents, Debbie & Andy, first.  They are our neighbors down the street, after all.  I just love Debbie.  She's one of the women in my life that is sort of a surrogate mom, if you will.  She's bold and brash and says anything.  She's warm and inviting.  A great cook.  And, as it turns out, has an awesome daughter she fixed me up with.  ;-)  Dana and I are both only children and we both have/had mom's who everyone loved.  We just clicked and we were so honored to be invited to her wedding to Craig.  Craig has two daughters from his first marriage (you'll see one of the girls below) and they make a great family.

The wedding was beautiful and luckily, quick!  We'd had cloudy skies in the morning and a gloriously sunny and hot afternoon, but right before the ceremony was supposed to start at 5:30, the thunder clouds rolled in and the lightning started.  They had just enough time to have the ceremony outside before it started sprinkling.  It finished, we all went inside for the cocktail hour and the heavens open up and it POURED RAIN.  Crazy and fantastic timing!  The only bummer was no beach photos of the new couple - finding a dry spot for formal portraits was challenging, too, as the Shoals Club isn't huge.  At any rate, the party was a blast and everyone had a great time. Wonderful speeches, so much love.  (Again, photos with my point & shoot - I was there to enjoy, not photograph! ;-))

Spectacular setting overlooking Frying Pan Shoals.

Uhhh, now those are some threatening clouds, lol.

Gorg dresses!

Dana looked PERFECT.

The happy couple.  :-)
