Instead of battling the crowds around Thanksgiving when the park re-opened, we opted to get tickets for Holiday Express. The park would be decked out in holiday lights, the historic carousel from 1911 is now housed in a heated and cooled building, the carousel has been refurbished, they've added a stage area and had musicians playing Christmas music, Santa was there, and the little train that takes you around the park now has it's own station! We parked in a remote lot and had to take a coach bus to the park. Dare I say the bus ride was the highlight of the evening? Turns out we picked the coldest night of the 4-night event to go, and guess whose mama forgot gloves and separate hats? It was fun anyway. :-)
BUS!!!!!

Train! Which we actually didn't make it on because by the time we finished with the carousel and Santa, it was WAY past dinner, lol. So, we opted to leave and go get pizza instead. :-)
Love everything they did!
Waiting for the carousel.

This kid LOVED THE CAROUSEL.
This kid..... jury is still out. lol
Boys, your mama's a geek.
Now it's time for Santaaaa! Henry was jazzed. Matt was not. So much so, he wouldn't' take a photo with the big man. lol
I am getting really good and hamming it up for mama's camera.
This is where Henry told Santa he wanted a car, and then pointed to the moon. lol
Outta focus, but still cute. :-)
Merry Christmas everybody!!
